THE Applied Chemical Engineering Department of the 718th research institute of CSIC mainly engage in chemical testing, environmental assessment, fine chemical production and development of gas standard material and so on. Base technology unit, fine chemical production unit and gas development department are its subordinate unit.  The base technology unit mainly engage in chemical testing, environmental assessment and measurement calibration, etc., the fine chemical production unit mainly engage in development and production of chemical products used in Automotive, gas development department mainly engage in production of deuterium gas and preparation of standard gases. The Applied of Chemical Engineering Department is responsible for the daily management of China shipping industry chemical substance testing center.
      China shipbuilding industry chemical substance testing center acquired Certificate of Conformity of China National Certification and Accreditation Administration Committee（CMA）, and acquired Certificate of Conformity of  CNAS and National Defense Laboratory DILAC. The center can detect the chemical composition of "air, water, chemical products, metals, non-metallic, decoration materials," and "UV / Vis spectrophotometer, pH meter, conductivity meter, gas chromatography, atomic absorption spectrometer "verification and calibration services.
      Environmental Evaluation Office is subordinate units of the Basic technology unit, environmental assessment B qualification certificate holders approved by the State Environmental Protection Agency,  may carry out environmental impact assessment in areas such as "construction, municipal public works; Social Services; light industry, textiles, building material, machinery, electronic; region environmental development".
      The products of the fine chemical production unit: automotive carburetor cleaner, antifreeze, antifreeze bath of water, External cleaning agent for engine, Cleaning agent inside the engine, brake fluid, radiator cleaners, foam cleaning agent , table board wax and the like.
      The gas development department can produce gas reference material such as high purity deuterium gas, and can develop gas reference material such as hydrogen in nitrogen, oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, heptane and methane in air. The high purity deuterium gas purity greater than 99.999%, can be used in the nuclear industry, electronics industry, chemical industry, optics, medical and scientific research and other industries. The gas reference materials have been approved by the National Standards Committee, won the national standard measurement equipment manufacturing license  (National Manufacturing Standards No. 10000871).
